Co-production & engagement
Working together with people with a learning disability
Throughout the DAPPLE Project, we will work closely together with a group of about ten people with a learning disability (including people from each of the four study sites).
The group will meet every month (mostly online, but sometimes in-person). They will:
-
think about the emerging findings
-
give feedback, ideas and tips
-
help to develop videos, blogs, articles and other outputs.
Engagement with stakeholders
Our Research Advisory Group has representatives from a wide range of stakeholder groups (including people with a learning disability, family carers, learning disability services, palliative care services, commissioners and policy makers).
Right from the start of the DAPPLE project, we will engage with a wide range of audiences through social media activities, regular blogs and webinars. If possible, we will share emerging findings. We welcome feedback, so do get in touch with us!
Producing information, guidance and training
This will include:
-
Resources for health/social care professionals and carers, on the Open University website
-
Written actionable recommendations and policy guidance
-
Exemplars as comprehensive case studies that everyone can learn from
-
Materials for varied audiences (including video and easy-read)
-
Articles in academic journals
Most of these will be produced towards the end of the project. We will share our findings and conclusions at a national conference in July 2027.
The co-production and engagement activities will be led by Kingston University:
Richard Keagan-Bull (co-lead)
