Scoping review

We want to find out what is already known about supporting people with a learning disability who have palliative and end of life care needs.

We will try to find as many research studies, guidance documents and other resources as possible, that help to answer these questions:

  • How is palliative and end of life care need identified in people with a learning disability?

  • What are the interventions for meeting people’s palliative and end of life care needs in an individualised way?

  • What are the service models for co-ordinating care, service delivery and staff training?

We will do this scoping review at the start of the DAPPLE Project, so that it can inform the rest of the study. It will be completed in November 2025.

It is carried out at The Open University, by:

Dr Joanne Jordan (Lead)
Dr Lorna Rouse
Professor Elizabeth Tilley
