We did a webinar with Irene, the professor, and we had two guest speakers: Dr Joanne Jordan and Dr Andrea Bruun.
Joanne had been reading a lot of literature about palliative care and people with learning disabilities.
Andrea had taken a camera to a hospice and filmed conversations with patients with a learning disability, nurses, and support staff. She showed us a video with scripted text next to it. It was black and white, like the a-ha Take on Me music video, and their voices were made deeper to not reveal their voice and identity.

What was it like for us to host the webinar
Richard:
It was nice sharing the webinar, being the co-chair with Sunny and Irene. We were involved. Not just sitting there, we were part of it.
Sunny:
This was my second webinar. I did another one with our colleague Amanda. The more you do them, the more experienced you get. We had to be professional when talking to people. We had to nod our heads. I come across as natural when presenting. You are presenting in real life, it is like speaking to people, it has to be natural when you are explaining things.
Richard:
We had people behind the scenes to say “smile”. It is like TV presenters where they have people behind the scenes.

Do we want to do it again?
Both:
Yes. We want to do it again. It was good.
Richard:
I have a podcast. We didn’t have much time in the webinar. It was all very quick. Maybe Joanne and Andrea could speak more about their work in my podcast.
Sunny:
Yes, I would like to do a webinar again. With Amanda, Richard, and Irene. Maybe even Andrea.
If you want to find out more about the webinars. Come to the next one in June. And then we have another one in September. Here are the flyers.
